Frequently Asked Questions:
I thought the “Wild Pigs” disbanded?
Not hardly. The Wild Pigs Motorcycle Club has been very active since it’s forming in 1987. Although the “Pigs” did undergo a restructuring due to several incidents within the club, the original charter still has control over the organization and we are just as strong as ever.
With a name like “Wild Pigs” it sounds almost like an outlaw club. Are the Wild Pigs the one-percenter’s of law enforcement clubs?
Not at all! The Wild Pigs promote a positive image in motorcycling and are family oriented. The Wild Pigs are men and women of law enforcement that enjoy riding motorcycles off duty and are committed in building a strong bond between are members and other motorcycle organizations.
Yes, the Wild Pigs are all active or retired law enforcement officers. Although other public service professionals were once eligible to join, the restructuring of the club made it available to law enforcement officers only.
The Wild Pigs is strictly a Harley Davidson club. This is not meant to discriminate against anyone owning a BMW, Honda, Victory, etc.
I’m a police officer and I want to join. How do I get an application?
First, if your state already has a chapter of Wild Pigs, you should contact a member and inquire about joining. The Wild Pigs has a mandatory probation period which is used to determine if the prospective member is compatible with the Wild Pigs. If there is not a Wild Pigs chapter in your state, contact us and we will get you touch with the right person.
All police clubs seem to have the same agenda. What makes the Wild Pigs different from the rest?
The Wild Pigs are committed to the “Brotherhood of the Badge” just like most other LE clubs are. We do not claim to be the elite, but our history of over 15 years in motorcycling speaks for itself. We take pride in our organization and our profession, and realize that we must take care of our own. We are not in competition with other clubs and believe that we are all brothers and sisters with respect to each other’s values and goals.
Are you an outlaw club and if not, why do you wear a 3 piece patch that symbolizes an outlaw club?
The Wild Pigs is definitely not an outlaw club! Police officers have been riding Harley’s longer than just about anybody, only we have done it as our full time job. Our 3 piece patch does not symbolize a 1% club. Your club’s conduct makes you an outlaw club… not the patch you wear.
